Re-Born in Wilderness!

Circumcision and Passover @ Gilgal

Joshua 5
2 At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites again.”
5 All the people that came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness during the journey from Egypt had not.
They were still uncircumcised because they had not been circumcised on the way.
8 And after the whole nation had been circumcised, they remained(stayed, rested) where they were in camp until they were healed.
9 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” So the place has been called Gilgal to this day.
10 Now the children of Israel camped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Jericho.
11 And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Passover, unleavened bread and parched grain, on the very same day.
12 Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Israel no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Canaan that year.

The above happens in our life too.

When we accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior and Lord of our life, we receive the Salvation from the Lord through His amazing Grace. It is the beginning of the Journey to Know Him. In this process He sends us His Holy Spirit to convict us about our Sins, Righteousness and Judgement.

He takes us through wilderness and separates us from the world, breaks us, circumcises our hearts and teaches us to hear his voice through his WORD. He then gives us rest by his atoning sacrifice and propitiation. We are then born again  by His Word and His Spirit. We are then made as a new Creation in Christ – Truly Reborn!

Life is never the same after! Newness in walk, talk and action – Old is buried and one is saved through water – cleansing of conscience which we call Baptism. When God is pleased, Christ is revealed. We walk towards the promised land by having a heart to follow him with utmost obedience that God may call you – A Man after my own Heart!
